Pregnant Elephant

Reproductive age for a female elephant is about 13 years and a male is about 18 years. A female elephant’s estrous (rut) cycle lasts approximately 3 months per cycle, in contradictory, a male rut season can happen all the time. The gestation incubation lasts for 18-22 months. The baby will only sucks from the mother’s breast then around the seventh month old will begin to eat between the mother’s feces and soft food for about 3 years before weaning and then it is ready to go to training session for an elephant.

ช้างเพศเมียถึงวัยเจริญพันธ์ุ อายุโดยประมาณ 13 ปี ส่วนเพศผู้ ประมาณ 18ปีขึ้นไป หรือผ่านการตกมันมาก่อน วงรอบการเป็นสัดของช้างเป็นเวลา 3 เดือนต่อ1รอบโดยประมาณ ส่วนตัวผู้นั้น พร้อมทุกเวลา เมื่อความสัมพันธ์มาถึงจึงเกิดการเกี่ยวพาราสี ตกล่องป่องชิ้นกันแล้ว ก็ต้องใช้เวลา ฟักตัวตั้งท้องเป็นเวลา 18-22 เดือนถึงจะตกลกออกมาเป็น ชายหรือหญิง ก็เป็นธรรมชาติ แลกคลอด ลูกช้างจะกิน นมแม่อย่างเดียวเท่านั้นโดยการใช้ ปากดูดจากเต้านมแม่ เจ็ดเดือนเริ่ม กิน อุจระของแม่ และกินอาหารอ่อน สลับกับนมแม่ เป็นเวลา ถึง เกือบ 3ปี จึงทำการหย่านม พร้อมที่จะเข้าเรียน สำหลับช้างเลี้ยง
